Y-axis Pinion Gear Replacment
- Switch the machine off.
- Remove the motor and resolver cables from the Y-Axis motor.
- Remove the 4 bolts which hold the motor in place.
4. Lift the motor and gearbox with pinion up out of the trolley and lay it down on a work surface.
5. Measure the distance from the bottom edge of the pinion to the bottom of the gearbox.
6. Loosen the bolts on the taper lock.
7. Remove the taper lock and old pinion.
8. Reverse the process to put the taper lock and new pinion back on.
9. Set the pinion the same distance from the gearbox as it was before.
10. Tighten the taper lock (Torque 10Nm).
11. Replace the motor back into the trolley so that the pinion has approx 1/10 mm play in the toothed rack.
12. Tighten the 4 bolts holding the motor in place and check the position (height) of the pinion in the toothed rack.
13. Connect the cables.
14. Switch the machine back on.
15. Check the zero point (if necessary adjust the MK_Grundoffset Y-Axis).
