Setup of the micro switch for cutting head on felt on a Rapidline.

Location of microswitch on the cutting head

  • Position the cutting head so that there is no glass under the head and you have good access to the head.
  • Turn off the machine.
  • Remove the air pressure from the machine so that you can manually move the head up and down.
  • When the head is in its bottom position just above the felt the switch should be made (contact, closed).
  • Put a 1mm shim underneath the cutting head and allow the cutting wheel to rest on the 1mm shim.
  • Adjust the position of the switch until the switch is made when the cutting head is down and making contact with the 1mm shim.
  • Use the two screws to position the switch (see below).

  • Position a piece of the thinnest glass you have under the cutting head and ensure that the micro switch is NOT made (NO contact, not closed).
  • Re-connect the air and switch the machine on.
  • Test the function of the machine.
