What is to be installed:
Bus coupler - IL CAN BK-TC-PAC - 2718701 | Phoenix Contact
***Take a photo of your current DIP switch configuration before uninstalling the defect canbus coupler***
Once you have installed the IL CAN BK-TC-PAC canbus coupler you will need to go through the initial “dip switch” setup procedure shown below.
***After installing the new coupler you MUST follow the steps above. The IL CAN BK -TC-PAC has 9 dip switches (1-10). ALL 9 must be turned to off for auto - configuration***
After auto configuration there could be an initial communication issue, which is resolvable. The original coupler has SW8=on and SW9=off which is 500kbps transmission speed. You may have started with that same setup on the IL CAN BK-TC-PAC coupler as the original IL CO BK-PAC, but to get 500kbps on the IL CAN BK-TC-PAC coupler you need both SW8 and SW9 set to on. (With just SW8 on it is set to 125kbps.)
Your dip switches should look like the example below after the auto configuration and PRIOR to powering back up.
Now power cycle one last time if you had to make any dip switch changes and everything should be working as normal again.
