How to reference a high speed gantry (Bridge/Trolley/Tilting/Lifting/Turning)
Section 1
To reference the highspeed gantry axis' you must do the following:
- First, drive the gantry 1 foot away from its minimum limit switch for whichever axis you are trying to reference (pertains to bridge & trolley only).
- Make sure there is nothing in the way of travel from the gantry to its minimum limit switch as it will drive itself onto the switch with no safety zones in play. **GANTRY CRASH POSSIBLE**
- If you need to release the gantry to get it to its minimum limit switch see Highspeed Gantry - How to release the gantry.
- Once you have the gantry 1 foot away from its limit switch you then need to return to the panelview home screen and click the service softkey as shown below.
- Now click the login soft key as shown below.
- Once you click service a pop up window will appear. Try the following usernames and passwords:
Username: | Hegla |
Password: | D37688 |
Username: | 1 |
Password: | 0100 |
- Once you are logged in your screen should look like the one shown below. Then click the system soft key.
- Once you have clicked the system softkey you should see the screen below. Now click the Set Zero P. soft key.
- After clicking the Set Zero P. softkey you should get to a screen that allows you to choose from the following:
- Master (section 2)
- Slave (section 3)
- Trolley (section 4)
- Tilting (section 5)
- Lifting (section 6)
- Turning (section 7)
Section 2
Setting the zero point of the bridge master drive:
- To set the zero point (reference) of the bridge master, click the bridge master soft key in the "Set Zero Point" menu as shown below.
- In order to start the reference, the gantry must be in automatic mode on the operator console selector switch, in "operation mode window" tab down to reference and press the enter key (you must press the enter key and highlight reference).
- Double check to make sure the gantry has a clear path to the bridge minimum limit switch. If all looks good, press the start reference soft key.
- The bridge should drive on and back off of the minimum limit switch on its own and the encoder count of the bridge master should be in a window of 100-150 and the status window should display "reference okay". If this is correct, then the bridge master drive has completed reference.
- Change master bridge drive back to "AUTOMATIC" in the operating mode window.
(IMPORTANT OR GANTRY WILL NOT MOVE WHEN COMMANDED).
You MUST reference the bridge slave drive to match the encoder count of the bridge master drive after referencing the bridge master drive. To do this follow the steps in the "setting the zero point of the bridge slave drive" section below.
You can easily navigate to the bridge slave screen by hitting the right arrow tab key while on the bridge master screen (see below).
Section 3
Setting the zero point of the bridge slave drive:
- In order to start the reference, the gantry must be in automatic mode on the operator console selector switch, in operation mode window tab down to reference and press the enter key (you must press the enter key and highlight reference).
- Press the start reference softkey. The encoder count of the bridge slave drive will mirror the encoder count of the bridge master drive. If this is true, then the bridge reference is complete.
- Change slave bridge drive back to "AUTOMATIC" in the operating mode window.
(IMPORTANT OR GANTRY WILL NOT MOVE WHEN COMMANDED).
Section 4
Setting the zero point of the trolley drive:
- To set the zero point (reference) of the trolley, click the trolley soft key in the "Set Zero Point" menu as shown below.
- In order to start the reference, the gantry must be in automatic mode on the operator console selector switch, in operation mode window tab down to reference and press the enter key (you must press the enter key and highlight reference).
- Double check to make sure the gantry has a clear path to the trolley minimum limit switch. If all looks good, press the start reference soft key.
- The trolley should drive on and back off of the minimum limit switch on its own and the encoder count of the bridge slave should be in a window of 100-150 just like the master drive and the status window should display "reference okay". If this is correct, then the bridge slave drive has completed reference.
- Change trolley drive back to "AUTOMATIC" in the operating mode window.
(IMPORTANT OR GANTRY WILL NOT MOVE WHEN COMMANDED).
Section 5
Setting the zero point of the tilting drive:
- In order to start the reference, the gantry must be in automatic mode on the operator console selector switch. Then from the "Set Zero Point" menu press the tilting softkey.
- In order to start the reference, the gantry must be in automatic mode on the operator console selector switch, in operation mode window tab down to reference and press the enter key (you must press the enter key and highlight reference).
- Press the start reference soft key.
- The tilting frame should drive on and back off of the minimum limit switch on its own and the encoder count of the tilting should be in a window of 100-150. The status window should display "reference okay". If this is correct, then the tilting drive has completed reference.
- Change tilting drive back to "AUTOMATIC" in the operating mode window.
(IMPORTANT OR GANTRY WILL NOT MOVE WHEN COMMANDED).
Section 6
Setting the zero point of the lifting drive:
- In order to start the reference, the gantry must be in automatic mode on the operator console selector switch. Then from the "Set Zero Point" menu press the trolley softkey.
- In order to start the reference, the gantry must be in automatic mode on the operator console selector switch, in operation mode window tab down to reference and press the enter key (you must press the enter key and highlight reference).
- Press the start reference soft key.
- The lifting frame should drive on and back off of the minimum limit switch on its own and the encoder count of the tilting should be in a window of 100-150. The status window should display "reference okay". If this is correct, then the lifting drive has completed reference.
- Change lifting drive back to "AUTOMATIC" in the operating mode window.
(IMPORTANT OR GANTRY WILL NOT MOVE WHEN COMMANDED).
Section 7
Setting the zero point of the turning drive:
- In order to start the reference, Turn to the home position slowly in manual mode (cups pointing towards the tilting table).
- When the suction frame is mechanically straight to the tilting table come back to the panelview and from the "Set Zero Point" screen select the turning softkey.
- Once you have selected the turning softkey you will see the screen below. Press and hold the set zero softkey for 3 seconds and the active position window should show an encoder count of 1000. If it does not, try just simply clicking the set zero softkey.
- If the encoder shows a count of 1000 after the reference then the reference for the turning drive is complete.
